was wondering if anyone does or can one use itunes as a music library with FCP5. i have tons of music and beds that would work way better if i could import them into FCP from itunes. not looking for the leagal BS about right to music, i pay a lot for the use, I need a program to help sort / listen that everyone in my shop can get on board with.

If you don’t mind spending some money, here’s a better workgroup wide tool from Gallery Software:

    Why not?
I use iTunes for this purpose in my editing.

iTunes will CONVERT to 48 kHz AIFF files (which is what FCP ideally uses) from CD tracks and mp3’s… and then, of course, quickly find and PLAY any of those audio files.

It will “store” those AIFF files on a hard disk in an alphabetical library that can also be rearranged into smaller “sub-groups” instantly for convenience.

You can find every single cut on the hard disk disk and drop it right into the Browser window in any and all FCP projects.

    What else do you need?

    Also check out Andrea’s Kiel’s Playlist2FCP tool:
    https://www.spherico.com/filmtools/Playlist2FCP/index.html
Its a very easy to use and useful tool for taking all iTunes song info and the music files to FCP via XML.
