I’ve had a hard time trying to figure out the correct steps- For those who use both AE and C4D this question is for you

I want to work in AE with a exported ( rendered ) C4D project- But I have only been able to find half the instructions to do so – Could someone run me through using a (placeholder that I can replace within AE) object or null object, in c4d then running a mulipass, then replacing the object with a 2D layer in AE. ( C4D 9.6, AE7 )

    Thanks for the help

What do you have problems with? The multipass-setup? The animation export? The replacement of the layers? Once again I must say that I think that it can’t possibly be any easier than in C4D to export stuff for compositing. I really don’t feel there is much to it, but if you could tell us where you are stuck, we will be happy to help.

Would it be possible for anyone to send a C4D, AE project file with placeholders and a AE project with replaced objects etc. Track Matte, Luma Matte and or whatever is the recommended methods to achieving 2.5D.

I almost understand all the steps but rather than having anyone write, type a small book just to help me – I think i could pick everything up by just looking at the projects / settings / results. If someone wants to send an email rather than post a file: source@xmitmedia.com

    Thanks for the help.
