    Running M100 7.1

Trying to export a QT file from range. If I export a short clip – it works fine. If I do the same export with a longer range – upon completion it tells me that it’s not a movie file to open.

I have tried different codecs with the same results.

    Any suggestions?

    Is this a M100 or a QT7 thing?

Are you really running Media 100 V7.1? Interesting. If this is the case, you could hit a 2GB filesize limit which was around in earlier OS versions. Or maybe your drive is formatted HFS and not HFS+, which also allows only 2GB. Try exporting short ranges, increase the length and look where it fails.

Running 1.7 – sorry about that.

    That’s a relief!
What happens if you export the entire program?
Can you isolate the failure to a specific segment of the range? In other words, maybe there is a bad section of the program that would fail no matter how short the range.

Another idea: you are not trying to export to an USB-Stick or a windows formatted drive? They still have a 2GB (or maybe 4GB) filesize limit on MacOS, as far as I know.
