    my guess would be tracking markers, motion tracked, and then the claws would have been done in 3d (probably maya)

    Colin Strause who runs Hydraulx often posts over at CGtalk, but i cant remember what his name is overthere. maybe have a look round there.

    Jackman had short claw appliances stuck to his hands, used as a visual reference for the longer, thinner CG claws. However, when the claws extended, they were all-CG.

    Sorry, I don’t have my Cinefex here to tell you which 3D app they used. 🙂
