    Hello,
I’m currently facing a very frustrating issue in Adobe Premiere CC 2015. I’m trying to edit 1080p, 30 fps footage with a bitrate of 20Mbps but editing it is impossible for me at the moment because Adobe Premiere is too slow.

I import the footage, and when I double click on the footage for it to show up in the “source” window, it just shows the “media pending” image/message. It takes minutes for the thumbnail to load, but even then I can’t properly scroll through the video and figure out which parts I can use to put in the sequence. It only displays on frame from some part of the video and not the one at the marker that I move. Even if I cut out some arbitrary portion of the clip on put in a sequence (even though I can’t tell what I’m working with), I get the “media pending” image again for the thumbnail in the “program” window. After a real thumbnail loads, I press play, but it doesn’t even play the clip! The play button doesn’t even always become the stop button. If I wait longer, only audio plays, but that single frame remains even though the marker runs to the right, meaning that the video should be being played. Pausing somewhere later, it takes minutes again to load a frame, a snapshot of where I paused.

    System Specs:
CPU: AMD FX-6300 at 3.5 Ghz
    Graphics card: AMD R9-380
    RAM: 2 x 4GB DDR3 in dual channel
    Storage: 1TB SSHD, 7200 RPM

I’ve edited videos on less powerful machines without problems, so I can’t image specs being the issue.

Any ideas of how I can fix this issue? Thanks in advance!

I’m having the same exact issue. And it really only started happening recently.

    Specs:
    Windows 10 64 Bit
    4x4GB DDR4 RAM
    Core i7-5820k @3.30GHZ
    Nvidia GTX 560 OC
250GB SSD for Cache and Software

    I am using a H.264 Codec at 1920x1080p at 60fps
My bitrate is 10 and my target is 12 at VBR 1 Pass

However coding used to only take an hour at most for my medium quality animations. Not they take several hours and on top of that MY CC suite for both Premier Pro and After Effects slowed down heavily. It takes 10-20 seconds just for a frame to load or a thumbnail to refresh.

If anyone has any idea I would appreciate the advice.

    Thanks.

Are you using the 2015 version too? I remember Premiere 2014 working fine on a different system a while back. Maybe it’s something to do with the update?

I just bit the bullet and updated to 2015.3 and the performance is amazing. I’m playing back things that used to be choppy and now are smooth.

What are your system specs, if you don’t mind sharing? Do you think that mine are sufficient for what I’m doing?

I had a windows 10 update last week, the last update before my project started and after my previous project when things were fine.

Perhaps these have something to do with the issue?

On another note does anyone happen to know why Adobe AE is running even though AME is the only Adobe Program running?

Should it be running even though hectically it’s not even open?

Now that I think about it, I’ve been having performance problems in CPU heavy games after installing that windows 10 update. It’s quite possible that this issue has something to do with that rather than the Premiere version.

Creative Cow is the most useless forum. No one can suggest useful advice to the OP and some people just say that the issue being experience by the OP had not been experienced by them, while others just say that they’re also having similar issue but haven’t found a solution to it (I WONDER WHY!)
