  audio from hd footage is just static

  Hi.

  I have this problem that i imported HD footage into APP but when i play it back the audio is just static. even after i render it. i dont understand what i did wrong. maybe i started a wrong project.

  if it helps here is some info about the files.

  Type: MPEG Movie
  File Size: 215,0 MB
  Image Size: 1920 x 1080
  Pixel Depth: 32
  Frame Rate: 25,00
  Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz – compressed – Stereo
  Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz – 32 bit floating point – Stereo
  Total Duration: 00:01:14:22
  Average Data Rate: 2,9 MB / second
  Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1,0

  If you open the MPEG clip in QT or whatever, does it play there? Can you open the file in Audacity and hear it?
