  How to select just the clips on the timeline that are to the right of the line?

  Is there any way to select only the audio and video clips that are to the right of the (vertical) line on the timeline? That way I could drag them to the right (or to the left) and make space to insert an additional clip (or eliminate space of a deleted clip). I’d make it alot easier to drop an additional clip right into the middle of what I’ve edited so far.

  Next question would be how to select just the clips that are to the left of the vertical line (what’s that line called that scrolls as the video plays on the timeline?)

  Hi Bruce,

  When dragging a new clip down to the timeline, hold the CTRL key and you can then “insert” the clip anywhere in the middle of things and all clips to the right will shift over automatically.

  To close a gap, right-click in the gap and delete. If deleting a clip in the middle, use Ripple-delete, or Mark In/Mark Out/Extract.
