Downres 4K footage to PP CS6 1080P timeline
I am having trouble getting a 4K (3840 x 2160 .MOV file) to work on a 1080 timeline in Premiere Pro CS6.
Dave Dugdale has a tutorial here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oEWvBsN63U
on how it’s supposed to work, basically like this:
Drag a file from the project list to “New Item” icon at the bottom of the project window.
(The file is now in the timeline as 3840×2160)
Go to “Sequence Settings” and edit the resolution boxes to read 1920 and 1080.
Problem is: the boxes are greyed out and can’t be changed.
I followed his tutorial to the letter and can’t get it to work no matter what I try. I’ve tried changing things in the Preferences and also tried bypassing the “New Sequence” dialog on startup. Is it possible CS6 won’t work like CC (which I believe Dave is using)?
