Premiere Pro CS6 Takes longer to render ProRes than Mpeg ??
I have always been used to rendering out a master copy to ProRes422 and then use that master to render out other formats, a double render I know, but normally can save time. Now I have a 48 minute film rendered to ProRes422. I have then imported that into a new sequence and added the RedGiant Cosmo filter to it as I want a render with the filter on. I wanted to render that out, again as prores422. Media encoder predicts that will take upwards of 23 hours, and keeps rising!!
However, taking the same sequence and rendering to an MPEG (for DVD use) will take 2 hours. I am confused why the prores version will take so much longer.
Is there a better / quicker mastering codec to use with Premiere Pro, such as DNxHD ??
