  • Dropped Frames on Quicktime H.264 Export

    Hey guys,

I am suddenly losing frames (kind of?) from my top video layer on export. Basically, on the .mov file, occasionally a frame will half-disappear from my top video layer, revealing the layer below it for just that frame. Here is a screenshot of the instance:

I have tried several exports and the frames that come up missing are different every time. I have tried queuing through AME, and exporting straight from Premiere, and it happens with both. It is just a rough cut with no color or heavy effects.

I am working through a USB 3.0 drive and have my scratch disk setup for the drive, I have cleaned my cache, deleted my render files in the sequence, even tried exporting as an mp4 container, and nothing has fixed the issue.

    Here are my export settings:

    Container: Quicktime
    Codec: H.264
    Quality: 100
    1280×720
    23.976
    Progrssive
    Square Pixels (1.0)
    Bit Depth: 24
    Data Rate: 7,200 mbps

    Here are my machine specs:
    OSX 10.9.4
    2.8GHz i7 Processor
    16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Intel Iris Graphics Card

Let me know if you have seen this before.

    Thanks!

This also happens when I export it as a 422… The footage I am working with is from a 5dmkiii and a C100, both of which are missing frames on the export.

Are you exporting to a local or shared drive?

    Thanks

I am exporting to the same USB 3.0 drive that I am working off of. I updated my OSX, and was able to export a cut without any issues finally. I am hoping that was the fix.

    Thanks for your reply.
