  • CC 2014 won’t work on my new mac pro – license issue?

Posted by Kent Beeson on July 13, 2014 at 4:17 am

Sold my old mac pro, before though I deleted all adobe CC 2014 apps on that machine after having migrated those apps to the new mac pro. SO they appear in the apps folder on the new mac pro BUT when I try to go to Creative Cloud I get this error message “Download Error, please download Creative Cloud.”

So I did but the same error message appears, won’t let me see or update any apps…what’s the fix?

Can’t I have CC 2014 apps on more than one machine, I thought though I took it off last MAC, put it only now on new mac pro.

    Fix?

    Thanks much

Reinstall the CC desktop application and sign out, then log in again. You may be prompted to force sign out all other computers, which you should do.

I was really hoping though doubting this simple suggestion would work – tried what you said and I get this:

any other thoughts? I’d love a fix as this is really frustrating.

Would love any ideas, I can’t at all access this CC app as before, all because I now use a different machine.

    Hi Kent,

[Kent Beeson] “Would love any ideas”

Have you contacted support as the warning indicates?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

finally, yes I contacted them yesterday – over an hour on the phone, and it finally works – they had to screen share, then use an old adobe manager or something previous to CC 2104, then re download then sign out then sign in, trash all unwanted items manually by hand (and still it left many of the CC apps (not CC 2014) on the hard drive), then install afresh all 2014 CC – way too complex

in 10 years it’ll be like this = “you have 1 license running already, do you wish to deactivate or keep on both machines?” We then choose, and it does what we say….why not have it work like this now, why wait another decade….oh well, hard/software is really many years behind where it should be by now (probably because of revenue stream/marketing reasons) – but at least for the moment all is good in CC 2014 land…thanks
