  • Editing a video @ 36 fps

Posted by James Siv on June 26, 2014 at 7:16 pm

A client gave me a video he recorded using a desktop recording software. Somehow he recorded at 36 fps which caused a 30 second audio gap. When I play it back trying to use 30 fps, I get weird stuttering which I thought would happen. The codec is Microsoft video 1, if that helps.

Is there a way I can set Premiere to 36 fps so I can fix this audio? Or is there some other suggestion to fix the gap. Thanks!

[James Siv] ” is there some other suggestion to fix the gap”

right click the clip and interpret the footage at 36 fps.

you should then be able to put it in a 30 fps sequence and have it behave properly.

Thanks for the response, but unfortunately that didn’t work. Right click on the footage > Modify > Interpret Footage. Already selected under frame rate is “Use Frame Rate from File: 36.0000”. Select OK.

Throw it down on my timeline and it still has the stuttering effect.

I’ve just recorded screen with sound using Microsoft Video 1 codec in 36 fps and wav, imported it to PProCS6 and everything is perfect in 36p sequence. Maybe you’ve installed codeck pack like k-lite which is messing with premiere’s a/v libraries. The easiest thing to do is to convert video from client to another format.
