  • Strange audio glitch on output – is this a bug?

I had this problem a couple of months ago and posted something about on another forum, and I’m having the same problem again. Basically, it happens when I stack 2 or more audio dissolves/fades on audio tracks in the timeline. For instance on audio track 2 I’m doing a quick fade out on a piece of music, and around the same point in the timeline I’m doing a slow fade-in of another piece of music on track 3, as well as a quicker fade-in of sound effect ambience on track 4. I’m using “exponential fade” effects. Everything plays back fine in Premiere Pro. But once I export my finished sequence and play back that video, I get a scratchy/static-like noise for as long as the various audio dissolves overlap. Since this has happened to me before, and I sort of forgot about it until I experienced it again yesterday, I got rid of the audio dissolves on 2 of the tracks and did rubber-band key-framing on those tracks using the same timings that I did with the “exponential fades”, and upon export, the static noise went away. As a control test, I swapped out the 3 “exponential fades” with “constant power” dissolves (instead of key-framing) and the noise came back on export.
I am using CC version 7.2.1. Would like to know if others have experienced the same problem.

I’ve just found the same thing with a multi cam project I’ve been working on, had to replace all the audio dissolves with key frames to fix it. I’m on 7.22

I’ve run into this issue as well.

Had to export the audio only to a mixdown track and import that back in for final exporting.

This should be fixed in 7.2.2. Please let me know if you encounter this issue after the update.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Hi Steve,

Does this only happen on Export? If so, does this happen if you do a direct export from Premiere Pro as well as sending to AME via Queue?

I’m getting it on playback and export from a sequence with a multicam clip. It doesn’t happen on the clip itself but when I put dissolves in the multicam clip audio I get it in the sequence I am editing the clip into.

Thanks for the update. Could you please send a screen shoot of your sequence and settings. Also include exact steps to reproduce the issue. Please also include system info and note any 3rd party hardware/software.

    I’ve been unsuccessful so far.

    Thanks in advance!

It’s back in 8.0.1. Both in PPro and in export.
