  Trim Monitor Defaults to Option & Arrow keys – No Like!

  Hi there,

  I’d like to know if there’s a way to make the Trim Monitor in Premiere Pro CC behave the way it does in previous versions ie. you now have to hold down Option & an Arrow key (left or right) to move through frames.

  In the past, you just used the Arrow keys. If you try that now the Trim Monitor will just turn itself off.

  I know it’s nit-picky but it just annoys me to have to use that extra key when it was so clean and simple before. I’ve tried to find a way to change it in the Keyboard Shortcuts but those options no longer exist (as they did previously) – they’ve gone!

  Does anyone have an idea how to change this back to just a one key procedure?

  Adobe has been moving toward greater trim functionality on the timeline for some time, and in CC they reached a point where many thought they needed to go for some time.

  I don’t think the trim monitor window is in the keyboard presets, so you may be out of luck there…

  I would have to say that the trimming on the sequence is so flexible and capable that I haven’t opened the trim monitor since getting proficient with the new trim tools. Going back to CS6 drives me nuts in that respect.

  Thanks for your reply.

  I agree the new trim tools in CC are awesome, and I do find myself editing directly in the Timeline a lot more than in the past. But I have a soft spot for fine tuning with the Trim Monitor. Just like being able to see the outgoing and incoming edit points at the same time. Maybe I’m old-fashioned, haha.

  Hopefully, there’s some way to get back to its former (simpler) functionality. Not the end of the world if it doesn’t though… just pining. 🙂
