  • Premiere Pro CC missing / dropping frames (See VIDEO) – bad rendering?

Hi, see here (1 min video) – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fxWZbR8aN8

Basically premiere pro CS6 AND CC keep missing frames on playback when dropped into timeline and colour graded etc compared to original, resulting in not-as-smooth playback. This happens at several points in the video that i have noticed and possibly a few more I havent!

The only ‘solution’ i have come across so far is to mark in/out points in the sequence, ‘delete render files in to out’, and then render again. This worked for a couple of cases but not others, but not another 🙁

It shouldnt happen at all – how many have i missed!?

I should mention Im using a macbook pro retina, using mavericks

My first question would be whether this happens prior to changing over to Mavericks?

Do your clip settings match your sequence settings? Like for example you started your project with a 23.976 fps clip from one camera and you’ve dropped in a 29.97 fps clip from another?

Also, you mentioned in your original description that it happens after color grading – if you export/render the same clip before grading, do the frames still disappear?

Same is happening with me too.
After I placed my color grading adjustment layers, the video is not smooth on preview.

    What could it be ?

Is it smooth when you export it? If it’s not smooth when you’re playing back, that could be simple cause you’re system is having trouble playing back all the unrendered effects – which is no biggie as far as delivering a good product is concerned. However, if it’s exporting with frames missing like originally pointed out, that’s no bueno.
