  Why is my nested sequence being resized upon export?

  I am working in a 1080p timeline and have brought in 720p footage that has been cut together, rescaled to fill the frame, and nested. When I bring up the export window, though, the scaled nested sequence returns to 720p, and no longer fills the frame. Even when I export the entire sequence in 720p, the nested sequence scales down to only a portion of the frame. What is going on?

  Do you have scale to frame size checked on your clip? If so, it looks like Premiere is ignoring that attribute of your clip when you pull up the export dialog box.

  For a quick fix, I would uncheck Scale to frame size on the clip and under effects scale the clip manually. See if Premiere retains that adjustment upon exporting.

  You may want to trash preferences and see if that fixes the issue.

  Thanks for the advice! Manually scaling it worked. Not sure what the deal was.

  Tried to duplicate this and wasn’t able to. I put 2 layers of 720p on a 1080p clip/sequence, set both clips to “scale to frame size”, nested them and put them back on the 1080p timeline. Rendered out just fine. One note, checking “scale to frame size” on the nest had no effect whatsoever. So that function seems to be strictly clip based.
