Marking out on the timeline is one frame too long!
Another editor coming from FCP confused about something strange PP does…
Let’s say I have two clips with a space between them on the timeline, and I want to add a clip between them.
I go to the end of the first clip, mark in.
I go to the beginning of the second clip, and mark out.
Bring into the source monitor the clip I want, and insert it.
Suddenly I’ve lost the first frame of the second clip I originally had on the timeline! When you zoom in to frame-scale, you can see that where you mark out a frame hangs past the place you mark out.
Maybe there’s some practical reason for it, but it seems like madness because if I know where I want to mark out, and I navigate there by either moving to an edit point, or using a marker, I have to always remember to use the arrow key to move back one frame before I mark out. It’s a little insane. Is there a way around this?
