Why is my homebuild still slow?

CPU : 3930k
fan:COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO
GPU : EVGA GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) 3GB
Mobo: ASRock X79 Extreme4 LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
RAM : G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
Case: COOLER MASTER Storm Series Trooper
PSU: RAIDMAX RX-1000AE 1000W ATX12V v2.3
Monitors: LG IPS235 and HPvs17eOther than the problems with freezing I have, I figured this would chew through Premiere, but it is still slow when I use simple effects. What gives?

You mentioned everything except your storage and what format are you having troubles with?

Just for reference, I’ve found (in the past), that freeze ups on these kind of build it yourself computers (I’ve built dozens over the years), usually end up being a motherboard, memory, bios upgrade, or some other kind of hardware/ OS software related issue, not a ‘bottleneck’ problem and rarely related to a package such as Adobe.. As a starting place, make sure your bios has been upgraded if it can be, as the manufacturer finds problems after shipping, they’ll update. I’ve finally given up on building them myself…not worth my time troubleshooting the issues. As to speed, Tero has a good starting question. Good luck…

Almong with Al’s suggestion, look at things like SATA level in Bios, CPP throttling/overclocking, and RAM voltage.

Sorry to respond so late, I’ve been watching my nephew and niece.I have this for OS and Programs :
Western Digital 320gb 7200rpm
I have 4 of these, 2 each in striped software RAIDs:
Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200 https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148840
and I just realized my CD/DVD drive is no longer recognized.
