Re-linking Premiere sequence to original RAW files
So here’s what I did and what I want:
-I have an FCP sequence composed of transcodes of the original R3D RED files.
-I exported an XML and reimported that back into Premiere.
-I want to relink the clips in Premiere so that they point at the original R3D’s, not the transcodes. Here’s the odd thing: Upon checking the Premiere timeline, I see that SOME of the clips now DO point to
the R3D’s, and some do not.I think I know why. The clips that now point at R3D’s were transcoded using FCP Log & Transfer. Premiere understands this and reconnects to the R3D’s instead of the transcoded versions. This is cool!
The problem is that some of the material was transcoded with early versions of Redcine instead of thru the FCP workflow, and it is these shots that do not link to R3D’s.
TWO questions. Is my assumption correct? and how do I get the clips pointing at Quicktimes to relink to the original R3D’s? I tried ‘Replace with …’ but that does not work.
Many thanks,
Jon
