WMV export in CS6 Mac version.
Am I blind??????? I can not find any export for WMV in Premiere or Encoder. Is it because I’m on a Mac? Any assistance to open my eyes appreciated. Even washed them out.

I’m not aware of any way to do it short of bootcamp, but here are some suggestions on the Adobe forums:

WMV export on a mac requires licensing software from telestream.
They offer different versions depending on the level of control and resolution/quality options you need.

I have studio pro version of that and it won’t work with adobe media encoder, only apple compressor.
I believe the adobe support area states, WMV export is only available on the PC version.

Besides Apple Compressor Flip4Mac enables QuickTime 7 to encode wmv movies. Drop a ProRes movie onto QT7 and select File / Export / wmv. Works great!

It’s a licensing issue. Apple doesn’t include WMV in QT. Telestream is the way to go.

Thanks guys – I guess I’m not as blind as I was thinking. I have a couple of ways of doing it, MPEG Stream Clip and a little program called Aimersoft. Since most of my work is for a Windows only company thought I’d give it a shot – since in the help files Adobe says you can output WMV.

Have Flip – works great with MPEG Streamclip. I have Compressor and rarely use it. Most output, now that I’ve left FCP, is done in Encoder. Everything is output to ProRes HQ then converted as needed. Sometimes ProRes LT – but like to have the highest output to keep as a Master.

Really? If that’s true, please let me know. I write the Help. On the page “File formats supported for export”, it says you can export WMV (Windows Only). If you saw that WMV is supported for export with Mac on any other page without the stipulation of “Windows only”, can you please give me the link? That way, I can fix the problem.
