I’m trying to do something really simple everywhere else, but PP is being just stoopid. I have multiple takes I want to stack and sync. PP won’t let me put the audio where I want. what gives?

If you maneuver your video clip to the track you want and hold the shift key down, you can then maneuver the audio elements to the track you want by pointing to the track you can the first element to drop onto.

    Hope this helps,

    Cheers JB

PS: Make Heaps of Audio Tracks in advance. Right click over the track names, select Add Tracks and hit in a value of about 16, that sound keep you going for a while 🙂

Thanks, Jon, but it seems these clips are stubbornly glued to the timeline, no matter what. It may have something to do with they’re being FCP QT P2 clips copied and moved into the PP project instead of transferred directly. I’m gonna try that next.

Note that the audio tracks 1-3 are stereo. They wont take mono audio.

Control/Right click on any audio track name, check “delete audio tracks”, select “all empty tracks” and from there on just drag any track below the master track and a compatible track will be created in succession.

You can also right click the file in the project panel and pick modify -> audio channels to map the mono tracks into stereo if you want. Note that you can’t modify the audio channels if the file is already cut in to a timeline.
