I can’t get Premiere to playback without the picture jerking and freezing. I am looking at the Tech specs Adobe Premiere web page. I have a Mac Pro Quad-Core Intel Xeon 2.4 GHz (the newest model) I am wondering if this card will work in my machine. Adobe also says that you need a monitor that will run at 1280×900. I have a Samsung SyncMaster 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz. (Which doesn’t list 1280 x 900). Will my monitor run at that resolution with the GeForce GTX 285?

Any advice on getting Premiere to work on my system will be much appreciated!

    Hi Kyle,

I would double check that you have the correct driver, as well as the Cuda driver.

The 285 will fill two 30″ displays with no problem.

The Adobe resolution spec is a minimum…more is great…less will not allow the entire UI to be visible.

Thinking about it now, if you are seeing this message, you likely have no driver or a default driver installed.

If you check your display pref, you’ll probably a really low resolution set by default.

That makes sense about the resolution. Will installing the GeForce GTX 285 or a Quadro 4000 make my playback work? I am using SATA drives with external RAID firewire drives. Thanks

    That should do it.

The playback will also depend on what you are using for a codec. If you are editing something like an h.264, you may not get great playback unless it is rendered.
