No longer able to open .vob files in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5
Hi everybody. Here is the thing. A few month ago i started a project in Adobe premiere to edit a some family videos. I edited a few hours an then i left the project along with the dvd files saved in my hard drive. I wasn’t able to finish my editing back then, so now that i have more time I decide to continue where i left.
However when i open the project this time, i found that all the clips are offline. Ok, no big deal, maybe i moved them, let’s replace the clip. Not working. I don’t know what happened in this few month but the i’m not longer able to open the same clips. The message i get is: “The file has an unsupported compression type”. I tried renaming the files to .mpg, and i get the same message.
Any help would be appreciated. -

You aren’t running the trial version for some reason?

No, i just checked it (Help>about) and it seems to be the full version, i don’t see anything that refer to a trial version. Although i remember unistalling and installing the software a few months ago, maybe i did something wrong when i was re-installing it…. i will try to re-install once again, and see what happen. Thanks for your reply.

After install and successful activation, there are additional codecs that need to be installed, the MPEG codecs are part of that.
Did you de-activate the software before you uninstalled it? There are a finite number of activations available for each license…

new to CS5 and Premiere… where/when do you load the additional MPEG codecs. everything thing seems to be working other than bring in mpg files to edit.
