  • Do more clips/files add to render time?

So I just did a pretty basic edit, a little over 2 minutes. 720/60p – no fancy effects..

It’s taken well over 30 minutes to render..It seems to be going really slow.

I’ve had more complex edits, including a longer duration project, with multiple after effects compositions render faster than this.

I’m using about 15+ clips or so.. Probably the most I’ve used in a single project …Does having so many clips make the render slower?

What gives? I’ve changed nothing since the last time I’ve used it…??

Have you set export to a different size or hit the tick box for Maximum Quality? That will make an edit take way longer.

I always do max render quality..and I always export to the same resolution I edit it..

maybe it having so many clips does add to render time, because I havent changed any settings from my last edit..It just seems slower rendering…1 pass is taking longer than 2 pass on a previous edit…wonder what the deal is..

Max Quality doesn’t always help really, it is more useful when scaling the video. If staying at the same size, try without and I bet you will be happy with the result…and the huge time savings.
