  Transparency settings

  Hi.

  I was wondering if there was any way to change a clip’s transparency settings to achieve a similar effect to how different layers transparencies interact with each other in photoshop etc? If that makes sense??

  I can do this in after effects but I’d like to know if there was a way to do this in Premiere at all.

  I’m basically looking for an option to change the transparency of a clip to Overlay, mulitply, screen etc.

  Im using SC3 by the way.

  Hi Stuart,

  Can’t speak for CS3, but in CS5, select your clip on the timeline, then go to Effects Controls and open up the Opacity settings – there is an option for Blend Mode and the drop down has about 25 different options, maybe CS3 is the same?

  Unfortunately its not there in CS3. Looks like it wasnt included until later down the line. Maybe I can convince work to upgrade their software now!

  What you want is an effect called “calculations” in CS3.

  PS transfer modes are in there.
