I have recently upgraded from Adobe Premiere CS3 to CS5. With my old system, I used the Matrox Software to export to tape and enable an external monitor. With the new system, I planned to rely on firewire, however CS5 will not export to tape and hence will not give me use of the external monitor.
I capture via firewire but cannot export. The software starts the DV deck and even lays down time code during the export process, but no video or audio passes through.
I have called Adobe Tech Support dozens of times and have received absolutely no help. Can anyone suggest a way to fix or get around this?

    Thanks,

The first thing I’d have you do is click on the playback settings in the program monitor window (the gadget you’d use to change the monitor to a waveform, etc) and go into the playback settings and see if you have an external device chosen in there…

Otherwise, we need a bit more information…

    What format are you using?

    It captures through FW?

What sort of a timeline (sequence settings) are you editing on?

Describe your steps for exporting to tape.

Describe in detail what happens in what order when you export.
