  • Any suggestions for Cineform AVI w/24bit audio?

I rendered out my uncompressed mov to a cineform avi so my cs4 wouldn’t have to work as hard when using the video file. But unfortunately, I can only do a 16bit cineform avi file. Any suggestions for a high quality alternative. My source video was HD 1920 x 1080p 24fps. I need the output to maintain quality while easing the work of the computer. I have AJA xena Lhi and Cineform Prospect HD. Hopefully this will give you an idea of what various codecs I am able to export.

Is there a problem with exporting a separate 24 bit .wav or aiff file to use in your timeline?

Kind of. The clip is an hour and a half movie that is being cut up and placed in 12 different television episodes. If I have a seperate audio file for the video, then I have to constantly be concerned with it being in good sync. If it was just a solid AVI with audio connected, then I could use the preview monitor to just select the in and out points and not have to worry about a huge timeline or a second timeline that just contained the movie.

What’s in the content that is more sophisticated than 16 bit?

What was the material recorded on? (acquisition format)

Well, after exporting the video and the audio you then select the two tracks and right-click->link the video and audio. It will then be as if you had a unified clip and will mitigate potential syncing issues and hey, it makes audio editing in other applications a much faster process, especially when dealing with AAF sequences…

    Cheers.
