  Will PPro CS4.1 install on 1280×800 laptop?

  Hi there,

  I’m about to buy a new laptop and my favorite laptops have a resolution of 1280×800. I’d like to run PPro CS4.1 on my new laptop (not as my primary edit system but as a portable edit system). But the PPro “minimum requirements” specify a res of 1280×900.

  Has anyone successfully installed PPro on a laptop with a screen with a res of only 1280×800??? Will it literally REFUSE to install if it detects a screen res of 1280×800???

  CS3 used to refuse if it didn’t match. Is there anyway to turn it up, even if unviewable to install?

  Hi Jack,

  My primary concern would be whether or not the machine has the juice for CS4, even if you could skirt the minimum display requirement.

  I stopped installing Adobe anything on my more portable email laptops as it just doesn’t really run.

  I use Vegas on my small machine…very scalable.

  Hey guys,

  Thanks loads for the replies!

  One quick thought… I have recently installed Illutrator CS3 on a netbook with a screen res of only 1024×600. The installer initially refused to install because the laptop’s screen has such a low native resolution. So I plugged the laptop into a larger screen and re-ran the install. The software installed fine while the netbook was connected to the large screen and Illustrator will now run on the netbook with a 1024×600 resolution (which would be pretty painful for doing any serious work but it’s fine for reviewing material whilst on the road etc).
