  stupid mask question

  ok ive got a problem, ive created a hallow “block” octagon, using 2 masks, unfortunatly right now im using 2 layers, scaled the inside mask to 80 percent of the original, i need to copy the mask and apply it for a morph to a different layer, the problem as you all probably know, is if a mask is creted in another layer, and then the layer is duplicated and scaled, there is no way to copy this “new” mask shape, as the shap has not changed relative to the layer, just teh scale of the layer

  so my question is this:

  How can i either reveal the mask through all layers so i can just click my mask tool 8 times and be done with it, and have my new mask. or how do i scale this mask, or copy this mask into the new layer

  I’m not sure if I understand your issue correctly but perhaps the following will help you to sort out the issue.

  Before you copy a mask from one layer (Layer A) to another layer (Layer B), that already has a mask, you should have a keyframe for maskshape or Layer B. Then copy the mask from Layer A. Move the Timeline Indicator to a new point in time. Goto the Layer Window for Layer B and select Target->Mask 1 before pasting the mask. This will create a new keyframe for maskshape for Layer B.
