  • After Effects error: opening sound component (-2166)

I exported a quicktime file out of premiere, then imported it into after effects, with the intention of converting it to an .avi file. However, when I try to do so, this error message keeps popping up… what am I doing wrong?

What format is the sound in? AE really only likes wav.

the audio is imported from premiere, as part of a file.

the sound settings for exporting from AE are:

    Compressor: None
    Rate: 22.050 kHz
    Size: 16 bit
    Use: Mono

these are also the default settings, which don’t work
