Yikes! Cineform for HDV Premiere CS3 project?
Hi there,
I am in the process of getting ready to edit a documentary project in Premiere CS3.
I imagine the project will be about 90mins in duration and will probably be capturing about 10-15 hours of footage after logging and a paper edit.
I have material shot on many formats incl DV,DVcam and HDV and have been most recently been shooting HDV on a Sony Z1. I will be shooting many formal IVs in the next couple of months before the edit.
In my down time I have been looking around the web and to my horror have read about the difficulties of HDV editing, and want to know if this is still a problem and will I need to use Cineform Aspect?
My main concern is that I don’t want to get half way down the track and have my computer slooooow down. I’ve been there before (on an old system) and its unmerciful! Or would I be better just to down convert from HDV to DV and edit as a DV project? In which case should I shoot my interviews in DVcam…
Any advice would be really appreciated.DELL PRECISION T3400 / XP PRO SP2
