  MXF Files and PPROCS3 Help

  Hello everyone I have a Big Problem with my PPCS3

  I am quite new to Ppro and need to understand how it uses memory. I can only work for a few minutes before my memory usage indicates that I’m at 75%. Then it crashes. I have an HD project that uses MXF files. The way I organize them is as follows: import, sort and put into a sequence. I then edit with this sequence. This is the same way I do it on Avid and I don’t have any problems. With Pro CS3I can only work for 15 minutes close the application and wait 7 minutes for it to load. Once loaded my memory usage indicates 55%. I have even broken my sequences down to under 6 minute as suggested by matrox. Clients don’t want to see their program broken up like this

  I must be doing something wrong

  What is the best way to work with MXF files?

  I don’t use a Matrox card (could be the issue), but Premiere should be able handle quite a large project with 4 Gigs.

  Anything else running at the same time?

  What’s inside the MXF, P2?

  lightscribe, AVG Virus Protection, services icon,log me in remote software. Not much

  I would absolutely lose the antivirus. Keep it mind it has to check each one of these huge files for viruses everytime you access them.

  You will also at least need a RAID 0 setup with 2-3 drives to get things running smoothly in HD.

  It will allow you to close all running tasks before starting Premiere.
