  Avid Exp pro 5.7 Acad, vs Prem Pro CS3, vs Vegas Pro 8

  I have used Prem Elements v2, but need to upgrade to capture HDV from Sony HVR-V1U. Tried PE v4 but had lots of trouble. Advise is needed as to which is simplist to use (novice)and gets me the output for playing back from the web (smallest file size with the highest quality).
  Major Requirements:
  1. Editing sound-Ability to blend left and right channels.
  2. Ability to produce high qualty video for playing from web, using DSL, and play quickly (need small file size).
