Low Lighting Footage
Hello, I would first like to thank you for taking the time to read my post and for trying to help. My problem is I shot about two hours of video last night which came out dark. It was indoors and the lighting was ok when I started but deteriorated as the evening got later. Is there some setting to bring the darker portion as close as possible to the not so dark footage? I’m using PP2.

Start by working with the Levels effect. It will get more grain in the footage, but there is no other way to really deal with the issue other than to make the adjustments.

Steven, you’re absolutely right, the footage does display more grain. I was hoping there was a easy way to fix this but I guess in the future I need to shoot with better lighting.

Often video appears darker on a PC monitor than it actually is…make your adjustment and preview on a TV if your target is DVD.

hi, you can blur your footage with minimum values to get rid of the most obvious grain you see. (donno if that’s possible in PP2, but it must be). In After effects, yeah, use levels, curves etc all works well for low lights
