  Premier CS3 HDV project slow loading and..

  I have a HDV project in CS3 premier.
  It takes long time to load and also when I click outside
  of premier, the hourglass comes on and it takes at least
  30 seconds to use premier.

  The project is HDV and not very complex. I think I have
  3 sequences and the most layers I have in one sequence
  is 3 layers.

  System:
  Dell XPS410, Quad Q6600 2.4ghz
  4gigs ram
  Windows XP PRO

  Is this common for HDV projects?

  How many clips do you have in your project? I typically have 500+ HDV (.m2t) files per project and to open a project takes 5-10min.

  I have a theory that if i don’t split up my .m2t files, the project load time will go down drastically. I have not tested this however. Do you capture via the Premiere Pro capture utility?
