I just went on thanksgiving vacation and brought my PC home to get some editing done. At school I have a dual-monitor set up, but decided to only bring one home for sanity reasons. Upon setting up the PC, I started a new file and captured some footage (well, about 55 minutes of footage). When I came back, I couldn’t find the footage anywhere on my computer, and when opening the file back up again, Adobe would crash. I can make new projects, but cannot close and reopen them – I get the “Loading project” bar, see the project window for about a second before Adobe closes, not even giving me an error window. When I have a new project open, if I tried to move the window before re-setting the window style (for a one-monitor editing setup) it would crash, so I figured it must have something to do with the second screen suddenly missing. But it seems like an extreme error for just a missing screen.

I would re-install it, but the install disc is back at College, and I can’t even repair it without the disc. I’m running Windows XP and Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

Did you redo the display properties before you started any programs?

Yeah, luckily my display settings set themselves to the correct set. I just double checked, and everything is how it should be.

If you right-click on the “My Computer” icon, select “manage”, then go to “Event Viewer”, and look under Application and/or System, you may find an error log from whatever is causing the problem.

    Might help,

Nope, unfortunately no record of any errors from Premiere Pro 2

Problem is when you move computers anything can happen, have you reseated the memory chips and cards? run any error checks, like memory checks, disk checks, etc??

Every other program I have works great – including other Adobe programs I’ve run across two screens, like After FX. But, no, I haven’t ttried reseating anything yet. I guess I’ll give that a try.
