I’ve searched and saw some stuff about this, but nothing specifically about my question.

So, I have a sony HDV camcorder here and I’m editing a show for a client. Until now I’ve just been setting the camera to down convert the HDV footage to DV on export, which works fine. However, when I tell it to export in HDV (the footage was recorded in HDV 1080i), I run into problems. Windows won’t recognize the camera and therefore I can’t connect to it in Premiere.

Do I need a new driver or specific patch for Premiere? I’m running Vista currently.

    Thanks for any help.

I had a similar issue with the Sony deck. Even though I had the deck set to HDV, it also needs the iLink down-convert to be turned off before PPro reconized the deck.

    Hope that may help.

Also make sure you are in a HDV project.
