Posted by Stephen Smith on March 3, 2009 at 6:39 pmOn Linkedin you can change your Public Profile’s URL. Is this something that can be done with the profiles on the COW?

March 3, 2009 at 7:14 pmUnfortunately, we could do this but I don’t believe we will. We want the COW profiles to stay at Creative COW and not be redirected to another website. You can put links on your profile to direct them to other websites but the COW profile is about you at Creative COW specifically and can be used to show more about yourself but primarily it has to do with Creative COW.

March 3, 2009 at 7:25 pmI believe that what Stephen is asking is if the profile URL could have our names in them as linkedin does. For example, my linkedin public profile has the url:https://www.linkedin.com/in/kathlynlindeboom
whereas my cow profile url is rather generic, although, I like being number 1: https://forums.creativecow.net/profile/1I don’t think that Stephen is asking us to send people away, just the ability to personalize the profile URL a bit more.

March 3, 2009 at 7:29 pmThis is definitely doable. We’ll have to discuss this a little as to how the mechanism will work, of course. The main drawback would be two people wanting

But yes, this is doable just as the blogs are this way.
The address of my blog is
https://blogs.creativecow.net/abraham
for instance. -

March 3, 2009 at 7:32 pmYep, Kathlyn…that’s what I’m asking. I think “https://forums.creativecow.net/profile/Stephen_Smith” would be a lot cooler then “https://forums.creativecow.net/profile/54394”.
Thanks, you both rock!

March 3, 2009 at 7:40 pmI think with linkedin, it’s first come, first served. Ron told me I needed to request my public profile link before someone else did. Although, we need to limit what people ask for. For example, Stephen couldn’t ask for abrahamchaffin.

Looks like every one will need to butter you up. Is cash your preferred method of bribery? 😉
