Help – exporting to DVD
Hi,
I’m helping out a friend by taping and capturing her dad’s memorial service.
-runtime: 1:47:00
I’m trying to burn it to DVD in Pro2.
Using HP writables 4.7g/2hours1st. attempt: right from project file to DVD burner
Result: ‘insufficient disk space for burning’2nd attempt: m2v file to burner
Result: ‘insufficient disk space for burning’3rd attempt: 3.5g mpeg file to burner
Result: ‘insufficient disk space for burning’4th attempt: ISO file to 100gb free firewire drive
Result: ‘insufficient disk space for burning’???
anyone know what i’m doing wrong?

I think that may be coming from your hardrive itself.. Do you have sufficient space on the harddrive to save the temp files or ISO ? Is the external drive FAT 32 or NTSF ?

hmmmm….you may be on to something there.
i’m sure a temporary file needs to be created huh?
8.2g free on C.
…though i believe i set all my scratch disk stuff to point to other drives.checking….
yesmedia cache is pointing to a volume with 14gb free
scratch disks, video and audio preview are looking to other drives which have between 30 and 52gb free.🙁

using CBR of 7.0MBps
changed to VBR min 2, targ 6, max 8…same dilly

With 2-pass VBR for a 107 minute timeline NTSC with PCM sound, your average rate should not exceed 4 MB. Use a bitrate calculator.

Your missing the boat! Your encoding bitrate is too high…for 2 pass VBR you will need a target or average of 3.7 mbps using Premiere and PCM audio.
6 or 7 mbps wont fit on a single layer DVD.
