This is the second time I had this problem the first time it was quite early in the edit so I decided to start over and hope this problem didn`t happen again…

So after a few days the problem resurfaces and I can’t seem to crack it and its starting to make me crack

Anyways the problem is that the audio tracks for the entire project go blank, no waveforms in the clips, but the clip is still there and the audio seems to have disappeared

I looked in several places to find a solution, digging through the options menus, etc with no gold so any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated because as it stands I’m dead in the water

Where did you get the audio track from? Also, is the audio still on the hard-drive? What type of project are you working with? Project settings? Media settings?

I think I’ve had the same problem…try creating a new Sequence and copy and paste everything from the no sound Sequence into the new and see if it works.

Well I got most of the audio from the imported avi files from my camera and other sounds are on my video drive (music, SFX, etc…) I am working with NTSC DV Video and 48000 Hz 32bit Stereo Audio. All of the orginal files our still in place on my hardrive and raw videos have sound.

As for moving the project into a new sequence, I already tried that with no gold

What about exporting an EDL and creating a new project and trying it there? I think I had a very similar problem in the last month, but my brain is shot after my RAID array died last week. Good luck!

  • I don’t know if this will help, but PPro2.0 takes advantage of ASIO enabled soundcards. If your hardware supports it, look under preferences, and Audio hardware. Make sure ASIO is enabled.

I’m a little confused with the audio specs you gave. With DV you should have 48000hz 16Bit or 32000Hz 12Bit. What are you using?

Sorry about the Audio Spec, don`t know what I was thinking I meant 16 bit not 32, just one of those days. As for ASIO my soundcard does not support it.

Another odd thing I noticed is the there one sound clip that still produces audio and it is also the last thing I added before this problem arose.

What a painful problem. So when you listen to the clips outside PPro, they sound fine? When you import them into a new Project, they work fine?

Yeah its quite the problem…and I am not any closer to solving it 🙁

Yeah Staring a new project and importing, all is good, but as for my current project the audio is out of action
