  tidier workflow

  I’ve been trying to figure out a better, faster, less mind-numbing way to fix hard edit points after they are rendered out from premiere. When I use twixtor in AE, I sometime have to create keyframes from “twixtor output” to “source” to erase gloops, but finding them by hand is very tedious if you have hundreds of cuts.

  I finally discovered a free plugin that will create markers so that you can simply hold shift, drag to the marker and ctrl+v the twixtor keyframes.

  I’d love to hear any other ideas out there.

  One easy solution for you would be to not render the movie in Premiere and simply save the project once your edits are done and import in AE. (The File | Import | Premiere Project).

  Thank you for your reply.

  Would this method work with changing framerates to a slower framerate for an imported comp?…because I use a solid to access the longer footage.

  For frame rate conversion

  1) Import the Premiere Project which creates a comp with sliced layers stacked
  2) Reset Comp (comp settings to wanted FPS)
  3) Apply Twixtor to top layer (set Input FPS to original FPS)
  4) Copy Twixtor
  5) Select all layers (then unselect the top one where Twixtor is already there)
  6) Paste Twixtor – you now have Twixtor on each layer and FPS conversion for the whole sequence
  — and in AE the audio still matches

  I tested this method but the color source does not dynamically update. You still have to go to each twixtor layer that you pasted and change its color source of video1 to its corresponding
  layer. example 75. video1.avi

  I noticed that twixtor, when dragged onto a layer from effects controls, it automatically assigns the correct color source. Perhaps I am missing something in the batch process of pasting.

  To workaround, I have decided it is easier to twixtor all the pre-edited video into large groups. This fixes 3 things.

  1. Twixtor glooping from hard cuts. I now can just use excess video handles and edit them off.
  2. Dynamic link doesn’t support titles anyway.
  3. Special Effects don’t need rotoscoping anymore.

  You are correct, I had not testing that trick for a while
  that technique used to work
  Presets for layers are busted too in the same manner

  I found a workaround
  After you applied Twixtor all layers
  Select all layers (CTRL A)
  Copy
  Create a new comp
  Paste
  – Now it points to the correct layer

  This also seems to work

  Duplicate Comp1 in Project bin
  Go to Comp2
  Apply Twixtor to Layer 1, set FPS value
  Cut
  Go back to original Comp1
  Select All Layers
  Paste

  Delete Comp2
