Is there a way to light only one of multple objects inside a Subdivision Surface? For example, if I place two spheres (A & B) in a null, inside a SS container and tell a single light in the scene to illuminate only sphere A, it doesn’t light sphere A (or B), but it does light only sphere A if I turn off the SS. If I turn the SS back on and tell the light to illuminate the whole SS, it illuminates both spheres. Is there a way to light only sphere A in this scenario?

Hi Tim, the issue was with your scene setup. You will have to break up your hierarchy by having sphere A and B in a separate Subdivision Surface(SS) object in order to only illuminate one object/mesh at a time. See my screenshot below for illuminate each object separately. Hope this helps. Cheers!!
