Hi everyone! Does anyone know a way that I could collapse a few words into an acronym? Just as an example, if I was collapsing/morphing “As Soon As Possible” into “ASAP” in a sequence, is there a way that I could animate that? I’ve tried looking up tutorials online, but can only find words morphing into other words. Hoping to have a collapsing effect. Thank you!

Maybe you can use the split() function to take the letters you need onto another text layer, then do a transition animation, doesn’t really help make a morph, but if you need to do this many times, it may speed you up? or maybe not…

What would you want the extra letters do ? Squish together until they are width 0? Fade out, then the remaining letters merge? Move out of the way in a different manner ? I think you need to design an example first, hand animate it, and then we can think about how to Automate that.

I’ve had to do this many times.
I use the evaporate for the letters I don’t want.

I use the sleight of hand trick where you use the whole word and then animate in the final characters.

So many different options to do this.
