I need some help identifying the transitions and effect this guy uses. I would like to re-create my own version.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qQyiIYkNI4

Here are main transitions I need help identifying.

Blur and then it snaps into focus and introduces a new scene @0:11 – 0:15
Static waves and slight glitch effect @0:29 – 0:30
Slow motion effect with the outline of a subject @1:17
Video speeds up and transitions into the next scene @0:50 – 0:52 (I think this is the same as the first transition I spoke about @0:11)
Lettering distortion @0:05 and distortion @1:25

All help is appreciated! Thank you all in advance!

First one uses a lot of the techniques of a Simulated Whip Pan. Check out some of these TUTORIALS for how to do it.

I would mess with the free presets you get with AE listed under BadTV. There are some plugins you can also purchase that simplify the process, but they are just doing things that can be done natively in AE. A few can be found at AEScripts. Also check out the Twitch plugin, I’ve never used it, but I believe it can take care of almost all your distortion, bad tv, jumpy smeared effects.

You might be able to do that with the Echo effect.

Lettering distortion @0:05 and distortion @1:25

Try creating a fractal noise pattern in a precomp, dump it in the final comp. And then apply a displacement layer effect to your text and point it at the fractal noise pattern.
