  • Missing font error “Myriad bold” despite all fonts being outlined

Posted by Reza Ryan on August 13, 2020 at 6:59 pm

    Hi there

I have a file that has all the text converted to outlines, all text has serif. I send it to print.

Printer says there is a missing font error “Myriad bold” is missing.

I say I there are zero instances of Myriad bold in my art and that all the text is already converted to outlines.

    Any ideas?

    –Thanks!

    Hi Reza,

maybe there is some Myriad text hidden somewhere (on a hidden layer or a hidden object?) that gets parsed to the printer.
Did you try converting your file to PDF, and print this PDF file instead?
(You can automate the process of converting all fonts to outlines – how-to can be found here: https://spark.adobe.com/page/kYEYk/ )

    Hope this helps,
    Tom

Another possibility is that there is an empty text frame somewhere in the layout that uses the font, but that is not being converted to outlines because there are no text characters in the frame to convert.
