    Hi,
if i add a light to a comp it will light up the 3D layer that is stacked underneath it.
When I move the light position to be behind the 3D layer, why doesn’t it backlight that layer creating a halo like it would in real life?
    cheers,

Halo as in reacting with the atmosphere?

There is no “atmosphere” in AE – though you might be interested in the plug in LUX from Trapcode, which might help you achieve the effect I think you are looking for. It makes AE’s comp light visible.
