    Hello,

We are digitizing old 3/4″ news tapes at my archive and are having issues capturing audio into FCP. We are using NTSC uncompressed 8-bit and are connected through XLR. When capturing (we are capturing the whole tape and not logged clips) the audio levels are around -60. As well during playback the levels stay this low and barely any audio is heard through the monitors. Are anyone else having this problem and if so is there a solution?

    Regards

    Using an io or ioHD?

Sorry I should have mentioned that in my first post, it is just an IO.

Do you have the control panel installed?

Have you chose the proper analog easy setup?

Do you have a mixer in between the deck and the io?

We are running firmware 3.1 and control panel 1.2. We had it through an external mixer before, and still had fine levels on the mixer, but no sound during the capture.

Are you sure that you have the analog audio easy setup and have xlr analog in chosen in the control panel?
