We are running an OS 10.7.4 system that has an AJA LHe using 9.1 driver. We use After Effects and Media 100. Yesterday, when opening a After Effects file and Media 100 project from a newer system, we had a system error. It reads “The A/V hardware is in use as the system sound” ” You must select a different device in System Preferences/ Sound/ Output”

Now we can’t switch from After Effects or Media 100 to anything including the finder without causing the error. I’ve tried switching the system sound setting from AJA back to line out, but it automatically switches back. Any ideas? It really sucks having to quit a program every time you get an email or want to look for a file!

    thanks,

    Jeremy

I’m having similar issues, but using Premiere with Aja LHi. If I go preview a file in finder, audio starts to go wacky in Premiere. Really a pain. Hope there is an answer.

I ended up dumping all my preferences for AJA, Media 100, and After effects. Not sure what one was the offender, but it is back to normal. I can have them all open at the same time and switch freely through them.
