I’m trying to take HVX-200 footage (which is currently in FCP sequence) and lay it off to DV/DSR-11 through my Kona 3.

Can’t get it right. There is only a component out on the kona and only a standard RCA (yellow, red, white) on the DSR 11. So if I hook the Y/G/CVBS from the Kona up to the Yellow RCA on the DSR-11 all I get is the picture in black and white.

    What am I doing wrong?
    help please

Your deck doesnt have component connections.

It does, however, have S-video. The Kona can output s-video, but you need to buy a special BNC to S-video adapter cable.

why not just have the Kona output Composite video?
you can set the analog to composite video and then use the “Y/G/” connection for the video into to your DSR 11

What Gary suggests is easier and cheaper, but S-Video will give you a slightly sharper image.

If you are unhappy with the quality…think about getting the cable, its not terribly expensive.
