Kona HD Le – Monitoring DVCPROHD Output
Hi there,
Just got my Kona card and I’m trying to monitor my DVCPROHD 720p60 sequences.
Having trouble doing so.Simple set-up.
Going Component RGB out of the card into my JVC NTSC monitor. No SDI or HDSDI I’m affraid.
I have the sequence, video out, and Kona control panel all set to DVCPROHD 720p60 – Though I notice on the FCP Video Output it says RGBA –Any clue what I am doing wrong?
Is it the case that DVCPROHD 720p60 can only be monitored via SDI or HDSDI?Thanks!

Within FCP, hit control-q and choose AJA KonaLHe 720p60 DVCPro HD Varicam.

Thanks, but I’m not seeing that option in my set-up menu.
I see 23.98 and 59.94 – neither of which work though…
Any thoughts?
I did update the Kona drivers to the latest stuff when I installed the card.
I don’t see anything in the A/V setting for DVCPROHD 60p either under Kona.<>MAD MEDIA DESIGN<>

59.94 is what you want. I think you need to down-covert or is your monitor an HD monitor?
If HD: go to View > External Video > All frames
If SD: this is how you down convert to SD using the Kona: https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/8/929482?
You will have to apply the analog output where I have said SDI in that post.

Yeah it’s SD. Going component RGB analog out to the input of the monitor.
SO I have everything set-up to 720p59.94, and the Kona control panel is set to this as well, with the secondary at 525i29.97. But I am getting two large vertical black lines and the image is a bit scrambled. Something is still not right.
Editing timebase on my original timeline is 23.98. Should it be 59.94?Sorry – still a bit confused about the signal path.

GOT IT! I had to select “secondary’ on the Kona Control Panel. DUH! Thanks for the help though Jeremy.
